Start by activating your face paint color as explained on\nour \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.jestpaint.com\/How-to-use-a-Face-Painting-Sponge-p\/jpb1002.htm\"\u003eprevious post\u003c\/a\u003e using a \u003c\/span\u003e\u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.jestpaint.com\/product-p\/jpss101.htm\"\u003e\u003cspan lang=\"EN-US\"\u003eface painting sponge\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e\u003cspan lang=\"EN-US\"\u003e like the Splash Half Moon sponge by\nJest Paint. \u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/inline\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"\u003e\u003cspan lang=\"EN-US\"\u003e\u003cinline style=\"font-size: 18px;\"\u003eOnce you have a nice load of face paint on your\nsponge, gently pat the sponge against the skin making sure not to press too\nhard since that could hurt the individual you are face painting and it could\ncause for excess water to be released from the sponge and make your base coat\nrunny. We don’t recommend for you to use swiping motions since that tends to\nlook streakier. Pat around the area you wish to cover making sure that your\nbase coat looks smooth and that you get a full coverage. If needed, load your\nsponge again and continue painting. \u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003c\/inline\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"\u003e\u003cinline style=\"font-size: 18px;\"\u003e\u003cspan lang=\"EN-US\"\u003eYou can use the rounded edge of your sponge to\nsmooth out any harsh lines that your sponge might have left. There is a great\nsponge called \u003c\/span\u003e\u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.jestpaint.com\/Splash-Droplet-Sponge-p\/jpss104.htm\"\u003e\u003cspan lang=\"EN-US\"\u003eDroplet Sponge\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e\u003cspan lang=\"EN-US\"\u003e that has fully rounded edges so it\nis great for creating smooth bases with no harsh lines. \u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/inline\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"\u003e\u003cspan lang=\"EN-US\"\u003e\u003cinline style=\"font-size: 18px;\"\u003eIf you do not want to cover the entire face\nthen use the edge of your sponge to shape your design. You can change the shape\nof your sponge by squeezing it with your fingers to the desire shape. \u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003c\/inline\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"\u003e\u003cspan lang=\"EN-US\"\u003e\u003cinline style=\"font-size: 18px;\"\u003eYou can also load two different colors at once\non your sponge to create a gradient look. Simply load one color at the time and\nthen apply the same way you would with just one color, keeping in mind that the\ndirection of your sponge needs to be such that colors don’t overlap. Meaning,\nalways keep one color towards the outside of the face and the other ones\ninwards. Otherwise, rather than creating a gradient the colors might mix\ntogether or create a patch work look. \u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003c\/inline\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"\u003e\u003cinline style=\"font-size: 18px;\"\u003e\u003cspan lang=\"EN-US\"\u003eAnother option is to use \u003c\/span\u003e\u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.jestpaint.com\/Global-Rainbow-Cakes-s\/2059.htm\"\u003e\u003cspan lang=\"EN-US\"\u003eRainbow Cakes\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e\u003cspan lang=\"EN-US\"\u003e to create base coats with several\ncolors. To load a rainbow cake you will need to get your entire sponge moisten,\nbut make sure to squeeze all excess water out of your sponge before loading it\nwith face paint. Then, set the sponge so that the longer end of your face paint\nsponge is perpendicular to the stripes of your rainbow cake and swipe in the\ndirection of the stripes back and forward until your entire sponge is fully\nloaded. Don’t get too stressed about using Rainbow Cakes since this is an entire technique on its own\nand we will go over it in a future post.\u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/inline\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"\u003e\u003cspan lang=\"EN-US\"\u003e\u003cinline style=\"font-size: 18px;\"\u003eNow, you can apply the face paint by patting on\nthe skin with your face painting sponge.
